Washington High School Drama Teacher Sentenced to Prison for Sex with Student
VANCOUVER, WA — Stephanie McCrea, 36, a former drama teacher at Evergreen High School was sentenced to five years in prison Wednesday, KPTV.com and multiple news sources reported. McCrea was arrested in January and in July, pleaded guilty to four counts of child rape and tampering with a witness. According to the news reported, the victim told investigators that he had a sexual relationship with his teacher that started in December of 2014. McCrea is separated from her husband and has a 9-year-old son. Court documents stated that McCrea had rehearsted what to say with the boy if they were ever interviewed by law enforcement. Even after allegations first surfaced, McCrea continued communicating with the boy, even creating a fake Facebook account to talk with him. The sentencing Wednesday was part of McCrea’s plea deal; she is due back in court on October 14th for her formal sentencing.
