    Christopher Calvin Vavra, 25, of Isanti, a physical education and health teacher at Braham High School, was charged in 10th District Court in Cambridge on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 with 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct and 4th degree criminal sexual conduct with a student. The crimes, which included hugging, kissing, and touch over the clothing, allegedly took place during school hours on November 21-22, 2011. The case was prosecuted by the Anoka County Attorney’s Office due to it being a conflict case for the Isanti County Attorney’s Office. In May 2012, Vavra plead guilty to felony, 4th degree criminal sexual conduct. Under the terms of the plea agreement, the first count of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct was dismissed. In November 2012, Vavra was sentenced to 135 days in Isanti County Jail, and will be on supervised probation and have to register as a predatory offender for 10 years. News Source: Isanti County News
