On Tuesday February 12, Carlos Munguia, a former fourth grade teacher at Hurley Elementary in La Puente, pleaded pleaded not guilty to five misdemeanor counts of child molesting during his arraignment at West Covina Superior Court. All five alleged victims are under the age of 18.
According to the criminal complaint, it is alleged that Munguia molested one girl on September 1, 2015, another girl on September 1, 2017, one girl on December 1, 2017 and two girls on February 1, 2018. If convicted of all charges, Munguia could face up to five years in county jail and would have to register as a sex offender for life.
