On October 8, the San Bernardino Roman Catholic diocese released a list of 34 priests accused of sexually abusing children. According to the diocese’s website, the Diocese of San Bernardino County listed clergy who were the subject of “credible allegations” of molestation since the diocese formed in 1978. All but one of the priests were removed from the priesthood, and permanently banned from ministry in the diocese. The remaining priest left the diocese in 1993 To date, and according to the list, his whereabouts are unknown. The most recent allegation came in 2014 from a boy who said that a priest made advances on him while the two drove to a retreat in Palm Springs.
