On September 5, Gina Murry a teacher at East Los Angeles Renaissance Academy at Esteban E. Torres High School, was arrested due to allegations of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old student. Murry is charged with six counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and four counts each of committing a lewd act on a child, oral copulation of a person under 16, and sexual penetration by a foreign object. According to officials, Murry assaulted the student during a two-month period beginning in May.
